西蒙•丹尼（Simon Denny）众望所归的个展“创新者的两难之境”近日在纽约PS1开幕。丹尼（1982年出生于新西兰的奥克兰市，现常驻柏林）基于新媒体经济、即其审美，策略，感知与效果创作了一系列多样形式的作品。此次在PS1的个展被布置成一个交易博览会的现场，作品标题借用了诸如Soundcloud（音频分享网站）与TED X（类似于一席的公众演讲组织）。展览装置包括灰色感受表面，短小音轨，横幅，在画布表面喷绘或印刷的企业图案和商标等。展览标题取自Clayton Christensen就企业理论于1997年出版的专著，书名全称是：“创新者的两难之境：当新技术导致巨大失败时”。（参考阅读：西蒙•丹尼“新管理”展评，法兰克福门廊博物馆）。

Simon Denny’s keenly anticipated solo exhibition “The Innovator’s Dilemma” opened this evening atPS1 in New York. Denny (b. 1982, Auckland, New Zealand and now based in Berlin), composes work in a variety of forms based on the new media economy —its aesthetic, tactics, sensations and effects. The show at PS1 is installed in the style of a trade fair; among the works, reference is made to names like Soundcloud and TED X. A complicated exhibition installation includes grey felt surfaces, tinny soundtracks, banners, corporate graphics and logos copied onto canvas and spray-painted over. The exhibition’s title is taken from a book on entrepreneurial theory by Clayton Christensen, published in 1997 (full title, “The Innovator’s Dilemma: When New Technologies Cause Great Firms to Fail”)(also see our review of Simon Denny’s show “New Management” at Portikus, Frankfurt)
